2. Hosting and server log files

The website runs on a server operated by Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. The servers are located in the European Union. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.

Each time a page is requested, information transmitted by your browser is recorded automatically because it is technically necessary to deliver the page:

  • IP address of the requesting device
  • date and time of the request
  • name and URL of the requested file
  • amount of data transferred and notification of successful retrieval
  • browser type and version, operating system
  • the previously visited page (referrer), if transmitted

This data is processed solely to deliver the website, to ensure system security and to resolve faults. It is not merged with other data sources and is not evaluated for advertising or analytics purposes. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in the technically error-free and secure operation of the website. Log data is generally deleted after 14 days, unless retaining it longer is exceptionally necessary to investigate a specific security incident.

3. Cookies

No cookies are set for visitors. There is therefore no cookie banner and no consent prompt. Cookies are used solely for signing in to the site's administration area, which concerns the operator only, not visitors.

4. No tracking, no analytics

No web analytics tools, tracking pixels, advertising networks or social media plugins are used. No profiling and no automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.

5. Fonts, images and scripts

All fonts, icons, images and scripts are served from this site's own server. In particular, there is no connection to Google Fonts or any other content delivery network. Loading this website therefore establishes no connection to third-party servers.

6. Contact by email

This website has no contact form. If you write to me by email, I process the data you send (your email address, your name where given, and the content of your message) solely in order to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, and additionally Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for enquiries relating to a possible contractual relationship. Your message is deleted once it is no longer needed and no statutory retention obligations apply. It is not passed on to third parties.

7. External links

This website links to external profiles, including on LinkedIn and GitHub. These are plain text links: no content from those providers is embedded, and no data is transmitted to them merely by loading this website. Only when you click such a link does the respective provider receive your data. I have no influence over that processing; the privacy policy of the respective provider applies.

8. Encryption

This website is delivered exclusively over an encrypted connection (HTTPS/TLS), indicated by the padlock icon in your browser's address bar.

9. Your rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
  • right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
  • right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
  • right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
  • right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
  • right to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR)

An informal message to [email protected] is enough to exercise these rights.

Right to object: Where data is processed on the basis of legitimate interests under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, you have the right to object to that processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation.

Right to lodge a complaint: You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your residence, place of work or the place of the alleged infringement. The authority responsible for me is the Saxon Data Protection Commissioner (Die Sächsische Datenschutzbeauftragte), Devrientstraße 5, 01067 Dresden, Germany.
